When you are working on your lawn care, you should be sure that you know how to get rid of those pesky weeds that can grow in your lawn. Weeds in your lawn can be very difficult to get rid of, because you risk the chance of killing your lawn if you take drastic measures. Understanding how you are going to get rid of the weeds to keep your lawn healthy is an important part of lawn care.

1. Fertilize your lawn as often as you need to. You should be following a schedule to ensure that your grass is going to be able to grow and fight off the weeds. The majority of fertilizers that you may use will already be mixed with a chemical that will kill the weeds. If you do not use a fertilizer that has something in it to kill the weeds, you may be feeding the weeds.

2. Mow your lawn as often as you can to get rid of the weeds. When you are mowing your lawn consistently you can also prevent sunlight from reaching the weeds and help stunt the growth of the weeds. Bagging your clippings if you have weed problems, can ensure that mowing your lawn does not spread the weeds.

3. Pull the weeds that you know you can get out. Although pulling weeds can be difficult, it will be well worth your time. If your soil is tough, use some hot water to loosen it up.

Getting rid of weeds in your lawn can be difficult, but it will be well worth your effort. When you have done all that you can to get rid of the weeds, you may find that your lawn is much more presentable and it may also be easier to take care of in the future.
