3 ways to make weeding your garden more enjoyable: August 27th, 2010

You may have a garden and hate weeding it…so here are three simple steps to make a daunting task seem more enjoyable. You can hire people to help improve your yard and lawn quality, but you may have some to do by hand, so follow these steps for more weeding enjoyment!

1. Do it with others: Weeding alone can be boring and lonely, but weeding with friends or family can make the time go by faster and the task seem easier!

2. Set a time to do it: By setting a time, you make sure it actually gets done and then you don’t have to worry about it all the time and keep procrastinating. Just set a time and do it then no matter what!

3. Reward yourself: To improve proper motivation, find a way to reward yourself when the task is done. It’s always easier to do something when a reward is on the horizon.

Weeding may not be the most fun thing to do, but it can be more enjoyable by following these simple steps!

How to have a beautiful yard: August 20th, 2010

Many people take time to have clean, decorated homes on the inside but some do not give the same care and attention to the outside. Here are a few tips for achieving a beautiful yard:

1. Green Lawn: No one likes seeing a dead, dry and yellow lawn. Be sure to keep it adequately watered and add fertilizer as needed to keep your lawn looking healthy.  Also, get rid of weeds and tall grass. Green grass looks better than yellow grass, but a green, weeded and mowed lawn looks even better!s

2. Put things where they belong: You don’t have to have a lot of money to keep your lawn looking nice. Be sure to keep bikes and toys put away neatly where they belong, and not left on the lawn. This will enhance the look of your lawn greatly!

3. Accenting the lawn: There are many ways to add accents and details to the landscape of a yard. Here are two options: Plant a bed of flowers where possible to add some color to the green lawn, or plant some clean cut bushes to add some volume to the yard.

By following these simple tips, you will not only enjoy the inside of your home, but also the outside!
